Welcome to NBHA California's Blog! This is your chance to speak out!

We are off to an AWESOME start for the 2007 race season. Several Districts are reporting GREAT TURNOUTS including District 7 (80 riders in the Open), District 15 (85 riders in the Open), and District 12 (98 riders total).
As our Districts grow and participation grows, our State Awards fund gets BIGGER and BIGGER. Last year, our Districts raised just over $11,000 that was put towards the $15,000 we spent on awards. This year, we've budgeted $20,000 for awards and with this budget, we will be able to award saddles to all three classes: Open, Youth & Senior!
Our thanks go to the District Directors who work so hard to build their Districts by putting on well managed shows and to our members who continue to support us by participating and by volunteering to help.
WHY DID WE MOVE THE DATES FOR THE STATE SHOW?
The reining show at the Reno Livestock Center added an extra week, thus forcing the AW4D to move their dates out one more week (and overlapping with our State Championships). Subsequently, we moved our dates to the first weekend in October (5, 6 & 7).
NBHA's mission is to promote the sport of barrel racing - this means that whenever possible, we cooperate with other associations so that we do not force our members to pick and choose between events.
